Harrison Engskov Named Gary Henschen Player of the Year
The Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League is proud to announce its 2025 post season awards.
The selection breakdown for the All-GLSCL Post Season Teams is for each position awarding a first and second-team honoree with all other voter getters being named honorable mention.
All post season selections and awards are determined by the eight coaching staffs with each team getting one vote.

Gary Henschen Player of the Year
Harrison Engskov - Flag City Sluggers - Arkansas State University (transfer)
Harrison Engskov finished third in the GLSCL batting title and was top among players that played the entire season for their respective teams with a .346 batting average. Engskov was hitting over .400 as late as July 4 when his high water mark was an impressive .405 through his first 75 at bats.
Engskov led the GLSCL in runs scored (38) and total bases (78) and was tied for the most RBIs (32). The switch hitting outfielder-first baseman combo was also tied for second in the league with five home runs and second in hits (47) for the season.
Engskov was voted a starting outfielder for the South Division in the GLSCL All-Star game. He had an impressive performance producing an RBI-single and an outfield assist.
The Little Rock, Arkansas has had quite the journey leading up to this point. Engskov was committed the Arkansas State University as a senior in high school when he was diagnosed with a thyroid condition called Graves' disease. He missed is senior season and his freshman season at Arkansas State while recovering from the illness. He is currently in the transfer portal looking for a fresh and new beginning to his college career after a great summer for the Sluggers.
